UNI GYŐR ETO HC secured a hat-trick of wins at the EUHA season finale
Machine-translated from Hungarian.
On Saturday, the EUHA – the European University Hockey Association – held its end-of-year meeting, during which the association not only reviewed the season just ended but also presented awards to the season’s most outstanding players. It was a great honour that the Győr University Ice Sports Centre hosted the event, and we are proud to say that the name UNI GYŐR ETO HC was mentioned three times during the awards ceremony.
Thanks to his outstanding performance, Benedek Madácsi was selected for the season’s All-Star team, thus deservedly earning his place amongst the league’s best. The award for the season’s best rookie went to Nikita Bogdanov – he is credited not only with goals and assists, but also with fitting straight into the team’s system and providing a steady presence throughout the season. The awards were collected on site by head coach Mátyás Odnoga.
We are particularly delighted that Dr Tamás Gyömörei, head of the Széchenyi István University Centre for Physical Education and Sport, has also been honoured. He received the “Award for the Development of University Ice Hockey” in recognition of his exemplary work in university sport and youth development.
The awards were presented by:
- Ľubomír Sekeráš, President of the EUHA
- František Sádecký, Vice-President of the EUHA
- Peter Špankovič, Executive Director of the EUHA
Although the season has officially come to an end, preparations for the next season are already well under way at our club. We are working on strengthening the squad, drawing up training programmes and preparing for new challenges. Our primary focus remains, in all our goals and every step we take, on representing our city and our university with dignity on the ice, both at home and abroad.
We’ll be back soon with more news – in the meantime, thank you to all our supporters for your support throughout the year!
